I have heartburn and find myself unconciously avoiding the foods that make me feel bad. I haven’t been competent to find any recipes worth making in other books and websites. They’re either boring or just not appetizing. I just purchased this book, but it’s easy to follow and genuinely lists foods I will have to keep out of the way of and tells me regarding other treatments besides medication (which I hate to take). So far I’ve tried only one of the recipes (oven fried chicken), but it was delicious. Even my husband (who does not have heartburn) loved it, as did my two kids. If the other recipes are this good, this book will find a permanent place in my kitchen!

Excellent background selective information on the disease. One of the most finish descriptions and reasons why sure foods cause problems. However, I was very disappointed with the recipe section. I was expecting recipes for dishes that did not include foods that may cause heartburn. Instead, there were very mutual recipes, a great deal of containing assorted ingredients that GERD suffers must avoid, with instructions such as “if you have troubles with onions, leave it out…” How helpful is that, really!?
