From School Library JournalGrade 9 Up–Magee has a assuring tone to her writing, affirming that a qualified expert is behind this series. Each book presents sumups within the context of real-world situations (questions to ask physicians, how to navigate supermarket aisles, what to order at a restaurant). This approach results in worthy selective information and delicious recipes, but other than a brief acknowledgement that numerous of the diseases may manifest in late adolescence, there are no discernible indicators that teens element much in the target audience. There are no photographs and diagrams, demonstrating that the series may be best commended to those who are specifically mesmerized in the impairment of normal physiological function and are looking for workable modus vivendi changes to allay their symptoms. It DOES tell you which food/drinks to avoid! By A I cannot believe a former reviewer mentions that this book doesn’t tell you what to stay clear from for acid reflux. There is an entire chapter consecrated to the subject not to mention a couple of chapters that are all regarding answering mutual Q & A on acid reflux in frequent and diet and acid reflux. Plus chapters on eating out and getting through the holidays.
My gastroenterologist gave me a copy of this book and told me that it was the best and easiest read on the subject and he was right!

Help at Hand By A I have just been diagnosed with Acid Reflux and realised that I had to make drastic changes to my diet and lifestyle. I purchased Tell Me What To Eat If I Have Acid Reflux and have found it very informative. Elaine Magee covers everything I necessitated to know and more. The recipes are utile as are hints such as chewing gum after meals and raising the head of the bed. I likewise didn’t recognise what I ought to and shouldn’t eat, but I do now and it has helped immensely. It is also outstanding to recognise that I’m not alone and that there are millions other suffers out there.

Magnesium supplementation cured me By D. R. Schryer For decades I suffered from severe bouts of acid reflux and heartburn assorted times each week. A few years ago I begun taking a every day supplement of 1,000 mg of chelated magnesium for another seemingly-unrelated ailment. To my pleasant surprise the supplemental magnesium not only cured the ailment for which I was taking it, it likewise completely stopped my sequences of acid reflux and heartburn. I have since learned that acid reflux is caused by stomach spasms which cause acid (which healthful stomachs are designed by nature to tolerate and utilize) to be ejected into the esophagus which is not designed to be exposed to stomach acid and burns when it is so exposed. Magnesium is a natural relaxant — as well as a natural antacid — and, therefore, it helps prevent the stomach spasms which are the root cause of acid reflux and accompanying heartburn. I am a exploration chemist, not a physician, so I cannot tell you to take chelated magnesium as I did. I can, however, report to you the beneficial effects which I experienced from each and everyday supplementation with chelated magnesium. Those fascinated in learning of the a lot of other gains of magnesium — including preventative action and mitigation of heart arrhythmia, high blood pressure, asthma, osteoporosis, and diabetes — ought to acquire and read Dr. Carolyn Dean’s splendid book The Miracle of Magnesium.
